Kanom Thai are desserts with a long history intertwined with Thai people. They are one of the cultural identities that reflected the way of life and wisdom of Thai people from the past to the present. However, due to the change of lifestyles and preferences of Thai people, as well as the increasing influence of cultures from other countries, Thai desserts are gradually fading away from Thai society.
The project proposes the renovation of the old tobacco factory building, located in the Charoen Krung area near the vibrant creative district of Bangkok, popular among young adults and tourists.
Since the building is an old historical building with unique characteristic architecture, we have chosen to preserve the original exterior facade. The old protruding stairs will be modernized to appear contemporary using a transparent glass wall, allowing the building’s interior activities to be visible from the outside.
(main exhibition – traditional retail)
Starting with Zone 1, "The Story", is a zone aimed to introduce everyone to Thai desserts, showcasing the origins and lifestyles that give rise to various types of desserts. It serves as the main exhibition area, complemented by shops where visitors can not only learn the information but also taste the product.

Zone 2, The Charm x learn&shop experience

(supermarket – co working - game)
After learning about the various stories of Thai desserts from zone1 and zone2, The warehouse is a zone showcasing ingredients and kitchen tools used in making Thai desserts. It's designed for interactive learning where visitors can learn and purchase items at the same time. This zone also includes game area where users can try creating Thai desserts with different ingredients, creating unique souvenirs for their museum visit.
Zone 4, The Idea x learn&eat&comment experience
(creative retail - experimental restaurant - creator hub)
The Idea is created from the feedback of the younger generation who wish to innovate within the realm of Thai desserts. It serves as a hub for supporting creativity in various forms, including creating new desserts, as well as combining desserts with other dishes, providing ways for Thai desserts to adapt and remain strong alongside the Thai society.
