PROJECT: INTERIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR KACHA RESORT AND SPA KOHCHANG

LOCATION: KOHCHANG TRAT, THAILAND
AREA: 2,315 sq.m.
What if you get to go on vacation and the place suits you perfectly, as if it were built for you personally? The architectural development program of Kacha Resort and Spa Koh Chang is presented for the purpose of developing the program to be able to meet customer demands and adapt to the needs of future generations, which will raise the project's value.
The key that will be presented through the overall image of the project and create uniqueness is the use of colors, features with selling point ideas, stories, and activities for the project by using personal color as a core idea in design to create enjoyment for both the project and guests. Kacha Resort and Spa Koh Chang, as they have been known, will not be just a normal seaside resort again.
Kacha Resort and Spa Koh Chang was located on White Sand Beach, Trat. By studying the location of the resort, there are advantages in terms of location and the opportunity to develop the resort and increase its value. Based on guest and occupancy trends, the resort has the potential to adjust and develop to raise its popularity.
Based on a study from The Matter research, current travel trends give importance to wellness tourism. Knowing this, the designer sees potential for developing the project in the way of wellness tourism to create selling points that meet the needs and are more secure. Meanwhile, the designer wants to lead the selling point of the project toward wellness tourism. The designer knew the resort presented monotony and saw another way to present wellness tourism in terms of beauty. Also, beauty in the wellness tourism market was not often mentioned in terms of design. The designer sees the opportunity to use beauty and personal colors as the main ideas in designing.
By studying the resort, I found that the problems were that the architectural style was not contemporary and customer needs were changing with the era, which made the resort miss these needs. Besides, COVID-19 has influenced the trips. If the resort has its own activities to accommodate guests, it will lead to one destination of travel and will be a key to making guests want to use the services.
The main idea in design is to create a space to support and promote personal beauty for everyone. The design will be presented through a personal color concept, which talks about the uses of various colors that answer needs and promote beauty for guests. Furthermore, in designing, create interior elements that are flexible and adjustable for more purposes.
The lines that were used to design the building are oblique and vertical. Vertical lines were used to rhyme with the overall picture of the resort and the architecture. Oblique lines were used to create more surface, use colors, and create more perspective. The materials in this project are concrete and wood, which are specifically chosen to not be too colorful to prevent conflict in the story telling of each point in the project. Overall mood and tone will be focused on various colors based on personal color schemes
You could say that the design and development of the architecture in this project create and promote beauty to guests as well as the architecture of the project at the same time.
