PROJECT: SPACE INSPIRIUM
STUDENT: CHANAPA SIRIPAKMANONT
LOCATION: CHONBURI, THAILAND
AREA: 3371 sq.m.
Space inspirium is a place that gathers knowledge about space, space technology, and Geo-information. To make new generation who have a difference way of learning fully understand the concept of the universe, Spaceinpirium provide more than just facts. The place exhibited space science by integrate and cooperate ‘science process skill’ which consists skills of observing, Inferring, Measuring, Communicating, Classifying, Predicting, and understanding sense of space and time. Space inspirium acts as an experiment center where people can take time to appreciate emerging technology that helps us understand more about the universe and ourselves.
This project is focus mainly on how the new generations learn and master the knowledge of space science. By using space inside the museum as an interpretation of each contents. Big, small, or narrow space according to the content that laid. Combining new way of learning, exhibited objects, and knowledge of science with suitable volume of space, the place acts more than just a data collection but a new way of experience which led to a better understanding of space.

Space inspirium is located Inside spacekenovation, a satellite receiver and research center, at Pattaya, Chonburi. The place is under the supervision of GISTDA with the objective of Developing geo-informatics and space technology as a non-boundary knowledge for the country development. Visitors are between ages of 6-24. Mostly come in group on the weekday by bus. Student usually come in large groups around 100-150. The museum needs to provide place for gathering and spilt them into smaller group.
The museum uses science process skills and integrate them with the activities and exhibition inside the museum. Express the concept of cosmos through the Hight volume space with on conner express the unlimited of the cosmos. Using ramp to reach different high so that visitors get a different angle of the exhibition. This will change the visitor’s perspective and inspire them for more possibility. The museum also creates a possible option for visitors to choose path inside the museum which make them curious and comeback for a different path.
To support a wave of new generation, the museum uses learning by doing activities to emphasis the learning behavior of the new generation which has short extension span and need instant reaction. This place also provide space for new generation to get creative, create their vision of space and showcase them. The museum using shining material such as black tile, aluminum composite and stainless to emphasis the advance of future technology.
The museum consists of 6 zones.
RECEPTION HALL: Ticket buying and gathering space.
ZONE 1 THE BEGINNING: The beginning of cosmos and life
ZONE 2 OBSERVING THE SKY: Advance use of technology to explore the sky such as telescopes rockets and satellites.
ZONE 3 INTO THE SKY: First astronaut and space suit
ZONE 3 INTO THE SKY: NASA space camp
ZONE 3 INTO THE SKY: Mars walk
ZONE 4 SKY INSPIRED BY YOU: Create your own galaxy.
ZONE 5 UNDERSTANDING EARTH: learning about the use of Geo-information technology to understand more about the earth.
ZONE 6 WAY BACK HOME: See the possibility of using Geo-information technology in everyday life.
