PROJECT: INTERIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN FOR PUPILLAR HOTEL
STUDENT : SATIDA OUNHAPIROM
LOCATION: RAYONG, THAILAND
AREA: 7,830 sq.m.
Pupillar Hotel is a four-star hotel located on Leab Chai Fang road in the heart of Rayong city, which is full of various natural attractions. This location is surrounded by two types of natural resources, which are the beautiful Seang Chan beach in the front, and the Rayong river with mangrove on the back. With those incredible types of nature in one place, this advantage point becomes one of the greatest strengths above other hotels. All visitors could experience and enjoy the harmony of two different natural environments in this place.
Because of this site's potential, Pupillar Hotel aims to be an Eco Luxury Hotel for ecotourism and young generation tourists, especially for start jobbers in generation Y and generation Z, who are interested in travelling to experience nature. Although the hotel is an eco-hotel, its facilities are served for full service and still in a low-key luxury position. Moreover, that is not in terms of luxury design, but it is for convenience and fully service amenities as the standard of a four-stars hotel.
The concept of the design is shown in the camp that is located among natural environments. To connect both side contexts, this place is an in-between space among sea, mangrove, and river to unite human and nature with seamless combination. The design concerns connecting in horizontal and vertical ways to break the boundaries of space and brings nature inside by using organic lines and forms to imitate some surrounding line of nature. In addition, the different levels of space are used to continue the surrounding area into interior space. Moreover, selecting natural elements and materials by colors and textures is to make them feel close to nature.l close to nature.
