Futurium is a learning center of science, technology, and innovation with the main purpose to enhance knowledge and understanding of science, technology and innovation for youth and the general public to lead to the spark for create innovation in the future. Futurium also has a science career guidance exhibition. Allowing youth to continue to study and develop into future career choices. Therefore, the main target group of this project are youth at the secondary level. which is the age that looking for a path to study in the future and growing up with technology that cause of changed learning behaviors, such as like to learn independently, curious and learn quickly but at the same time, there is a shorter learning attention span. All of this makes the project interesting in terms of exhibition content and user behavior.
Futurium is located at Techno Thani, Khlong Ha Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province which is under the supervision of the National Science Museum (NSM). The construction is expected to be completed within 2023. The project consists of 4 main parts: public area, exhibition zone, conference room zone and office that making it possible to divide users into 3 main groups: visitors of the exhibition, Meeting room guests and staff. In addition, the content of the exhibition is divided into 2 main themes: Innovation World, showing about 7 innovation zones, and Job World, showing career guidance in science and technology.
The design concept comes from a Discovery Learning that focuses on allowing learners to find answers on their own through practice and trial. It is designed for visitors to walk freely without forcing the walking path. They can walk in and out according to interests. Designed to have a variety of display methods, focus on interactive media to make the exhibition visitors get the most involvement Including an area for experimenting such as inventing a robot, piloting a drone, etc. We have area to summarize the results of learning after viewing the exhibition by inserting transition spaces between exhibition areas. Moreover, the zoning of exhibition area is based on linking the contents of each zone, to facilitate visitors to understand and connect knowledge in each area more easily. That can help to expand knowledge in the future.
