PROJECT: INTERIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR SOMDOON WELLNESS RESORT

LOCATION: KOH SAMUI, THAILAND
AREA: 16,890 sq.m.
Although it’s not one of the more popular beaches of Samui island, Choengmon Beach’s location is one of the more quiet one. A suitable location for the guests of SOMDOON WELLNESS RESORT to enjoy their quiet getaway. Here, we aimed to provide our guest with a unique relaxation activity to promote their overall health and a balance between body and mind amidst the quiet and calm environment, enhanced with Samui’s unique characteristic.
SOMDOON WELLNESS is a 5 star resort located next to Choengmon beach. Our target is aimed at Wellness tourists that has emerged from the recent trend in health and wellness around the world. Wellness tourism is also a market that has the potential to grow on this quiet and tranquil site. Additional programs have been presented to cater the specific needs of this group of tourists in every dimension, including the Herbal Lounge, Wellness Building, a Fitness and a multipurpose area for meditation or yoga. The project is developed under the concept of ‘Serene Voyage’ that focuses on creating an experience of peace and privacy and a connection with nature that would help with inner balance. The design of the project incorporates modern material with organic one, including the use of coconut-based material, which is Samui’s identity, such as the husk itself and the fabric dyed with the husk, to create a unique atmosphere and a sense of craftsmanship. All to provide a relaxing atmosphere for our beloved guests.
