LOCATION: CHIANG MAI, THAILAND
AREA: 6,694.25 sq.m.
Welcome to “LANNA LEGACY” Boutique Hotel Chiang Mai which is located in Chiang Mai old town. Since our hotel is located in Chiang Mai, the center of Lanna Kingdom in the past, we have sincere intention to present the guests not only a variety of Lanna art but also Lanna way of life in every parts of our hotel. During the stay, the guests will live in rich Lanna culture and have a journey through Lanna elements we blend in each space as we are museum experienced hotel including many forms of Lai Kam, fabric patterns from wisdom of Lanna tribes, engraved wood in Lanna style. However, we focus on the elements of the Lanna Golden Period, the period before Lanna was colonized by Burma. Lanna art in this period developed from the previous period and was influenced by Chinese art and also Sukhothai and Ayuttha’s art.
At the lobby, we will serve a welcome drink from “Han Nam”, the small pavilion of terracotta pot which is always be at the front of Lanna ancient house. Then our staff will guide the way for the guest to their room.
Rim Ramink is both of breakfast area for the guests and also a restaurant and bar for other customers. We represent local ingredients from the Ping river and rice fields next to the river to tell the story of the fishery and agriculture culture of Lanna people from the past to present days.
After the meal, the guests can enjoy dessert from Khao Kum, Lanna sticky rice at “Waan Kum”. The guests can get the experience of soaking the rice which is called “Ma Khao” before the chef cooks it the next day.
The guests can learn and do their own Lanna handicrafts at local activities area such as painting Lanna umbrellas, weaving the fabric in Lanna Pattern, and making some accessories from metal ware. We also have Lanna dancing class and Lanna language learning if anyone is interested.
After gaining experiences of Lanna art and Lanna way of life, the guests can gather and discuss with each other at the club house by the swimming pool. This space represents the discourse culture between Lanna people in the past which developed from the flirting culture of Lanna men and women.
We have 6 types of Guest Rooms including Deluxe Room Type I: Tai Lue Wisdom, Deluxe Room Type II: Tai Kuen Wisdom, Suit Room Type I: Tai Yuan Wisdom, Suit Room Type II: Tai Yai Wisdom, 2 Bedrooms Suit: Pakakayo Wisdom and Family Room: Lua Wisdom. The difference of each type is the signature of fabric patterns in the room which are the wisdom of each tribe of Lanna.
After staying with us, the guests can buy some interesting local handicraft at “Kad Pai Rang by Lanna Legacy”. We cooperate with local people to make these products for the guest and other customers with an intention to support Chiang Mai craftsmanship. This will help the guest bring back good memories after they go back to their home.
