THESIS2566:INTERIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR THAI TEA LEARNING AND COMMUNITY CENTER SONG WAT
PROJECT: THAI TEA LEARNING AND COMMUNITY CENTER
STUDENT: Pimploy Watanathaisavat
LOCATION: SONG WAT ROAD, SAMPANTAWONG DISTRICT, BANGKOK, THAILAND
AREA: 2967 Sq.m.

Tea is one of the most well-known drinks in the world and tea drinking has been one of the oldest Thai cultures since the Sukhothai era brought by Chinese merchants. However, the northern parts of Thailand including Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Payao, Phrae, Naan, Lampang and Tak distributed a large area of tea villages that have been producing the best quality tea for ages. But even with the good qualities and the delicacy in every process, Thai tea agriculture is still not popular among consumers.

Located in Song Wat Road, renowned for its rich historical and cultural significance, our project holds immense promise for revitalizing this once vibrant area. Despite the passage of time, Song Wat retains its allure and stands poised to emerge as a captivating tourist destination, especially amidst the rising interest of new generations in art and cultural tourism. Anchored by The Tea Learning and Community Center, our initiative seeks to leverage the area's valuable qualities to foster strong connections between consumers and producers. By engaging visitors in immersive experiences and educational opportunities centered around Thai tea, we aim to not only support the growth of the local tea industry but also contribute to the revitalization of Song Wat, transforming it into a thriving hub of cultural exchange and exploration.

The project's goal is to offer visitors a comprehensive and accessible understanding of the intricate world of tea. To achieve this, the designer proposed an exhibition format, transforming complex information by incorporating elements of tea culture into artistic expressions. Offering a compelling experience that resonates with the modern sensibilities of young generations. Each designated exhibition area will immerse visitors in the distinct design elements inspired by various tea processes, ranging from the delicate refinement of white tea to the bold richness of black tea.

The serene ambiance of the white tea section will evoke purity and tranquility, while the green tea area will showcase vibrant hues and organic forms reflective of its fresh essence. Oolong tea enthusiasts will encounter a space that exudes elegance and complexity, mirroring the tea's nuanced flavors and aromas. Finally, the black tea zone will captivate with its sophisticated charm and deep, warm tones, inviting exploration into the rich heritage of this beloved brew.
