PROJECT: FANG HOT SPRING
STUDENT : NATCHAPONG PHROMTHIRAT
LOCATION: CHIANGMAI, THAILAND
AREA: 2,501 sq.m.
Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park is located in Fang District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. It is one of Thailand's most beautiful, precious, and priceless natural resources. The famous natural hot springs that appear in the vicinity are a key tourist feature that draws a lot of visitors to the project. But ever since 2020, Thailand has faced the situation of COVID-19, and unfortunately, Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park has been temporarily closed ever since. Luckily, after the situation got so much better, the Thai government announced the release of the lockdown, giving the park supervisor a plan to renovate the project. The key to the renovation is to: 1. Create a number of activity areas to accommodate more groups of tourists and people from the community. and those activities can contribute to more entertaining and energetic surroundings. 2. Improve the interior and exterior architecture, both of which have been degrading from use for a long time. Additionally, the overall concept will be redesigned to better fit the project area's stunning surroundings. 3. Promote more activity and employment in many areas of the community to boost local economies. 4. Presents the value of the resources in Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park.
Under the concept of this renovation project is "Fang" , wanting to present the value of both natural resources and the culture of the community in Fang District. by acknowledging visitors through architectural design. Whether eating like a local, improving the hot spring bathing area to be more efficient, or improving the accommodation by taking advantage of the vernacular architecture of the Lahu community, Along with using materials that can be found in the area. Including renovating all other areas to connect with the beautiful surrounding areas. In addition to improving the identity of the building and activities. Bringing in community-related activities also helps provide income to the community.
