PROJECT: INTERIOR ARCHITECTURAL RENOVATION DESIGN FOR TREASURY MUSEUM
STUDENT : PORAMES DANGRUNGROJ
LOCATION: KHONKAEN, THAILAND
AREA: 6,141 sq.m.
Since 1968, this building was opened as BOT Office(Bank of Thailand) – the organization that operate about finance in thailand. Due to end of contraction between BOT and the treasury department in 2016, the treasury department, landlord of this property, has a development plan of renovation to museum and public function as café, museum and working space to facilitate tourist and urban people.
Located at KhonKaen, one of center of prosperity in ISAN(north east of thailad), in Srichan district that has development plan to ‘’ Creative district ‘’,same as Charoenkrung in bangkok. Over 52 years of building opened, this building, Not only a landmark but also the iconic building of khonkaen, is used as individual organization function. But in 2022, the building will turn to treasury museum of khonkaen to educate people about history of economics financial. Moreover, Khonkaen people, both rural and urban people, can reveal isan culture and traditional knowledge the world. In addition, this will lead prosperous growth of ISAN tourism.
The project has two objectives. One is to educate people about history of economics and culture of Thailand by learning the past in museum. Another, build the future, is to let user communicate and share idea with each other about financial or SMEs business
According to the objectives, the project intention is to make the ‘’HUB’’ of tourism, micro economics and education learning through elements and belief of ISAN. Not only learning the past from museum, but also build the future from coworking space, user will educate from museum and conversational made with others to develop financial of their own.
